The material balance is used to assess the ecological issues of your organization and related to planetary limits: consumption of water, sand, materials, natural spaces, waste, etc. and serve as a diagnostic and starting point to design your ecological redirection levers.

Ecological redirection


In a limited world, designing an ecological strategy is a matter of trade-offs and difficult choices. It's about deciding what to keep and what to give up. A renunciation protocol is a strategy conducted by a public or private organization with the aim of aligning its activities with planetary boundaries. To do this, she decides to give up certain activities (productive, technological, consumption, investment, project, ...) incompatible with the climatic and ecological situation, while securing the trajectories of collectives dependent on these activities. Each particular situation requires a specific and adapted protocol.


Support in the development of your ecological strategy. To register in a long and terrestrial time, that is to say in agreement with the planetary limits. How to inherit existing infrastructure? How to live with it now? Which activities to maintain and for which activities should a dismantling or re-orientation be considered?

The design is based on the inquiry process. The investigation consists of getting as close as possible to the actors, in a world in the making. And to reveal and take seriously their attachments, their dependencies to take them into account in the development of ecological strategies. This approach makes it possible to consider an ecology from below and from the middle *, rather than an ecology from above or through the environment. The survey and design approach allows the organization to experience a unique, tailor-made, reflective and participatory approach.


Starting from the processes and dependencies of organizations to better reorient them.

Organizations (companies and territories) are increasingly confronted, consciously or not, with contexts relating to Systems of Systems. Systems of Systems engineering is an operational methodology capable of fitting into the complex processes and dependencies of organizations. It makes it possible to structure the reflection in order to consider the difficult strategic choices which are necessary when it is a question of landing an organization in the planary limits or of dismantling or re-orienting certain activities by integrating both the aspects of technology and business models.


Multiply worlds to reconnect infrastructures to the more-than-human. The 3rd horizon game-workshop is a way to renew the how we envision the reorientation of an industrial system or of an urban development. It is about "multiplying the worlds to make ours more habitable" 2

Training and awareness


What is the difference between on-demand bicycles, an agrifood system, food, the final energy supply? None. These systems are all systems of systems. This course introduces you to the notion of Systems of Systems and how this notion can be used to structure the thinking collectively around the evolution of these systems. These changes may be the establishment of a new service, an organizational or technological change, such as the closure of an activity.


How to land its low carbon strategy within planetary limits? Many decarbonization strategies are based on compensation, decoupling promises or biased assessment perimeters and do not engage the difficult trade-offs necessary in view of the challenges of the Anthropocene. These strategies either do not allow for reductions commensurate with the stakes, or, worse, worsen the situation elsewhere, directly or indirectly. This course aims to thwart the traps of the carbon language and gives the concepts allowing to build a low carbon strategy which is in agreement with the planetary limits.


The Renunciation Collage is a workshop developed by which allows groups of people to debate and imagine what activities we could give up in order to respect planetary limits. By describing an activity in different ways, participants discover the complexity of a quitting process. In the end, they jointly devise a strategy to quit the activity or some of its aspects.


The Climate Collage aims to raise awareness of climate issues in a fun way. This 3-hour collective intelligence workshop is facilitated for groups of 5 to 20 participants. It is a rigorous, neutral educational tool that raises awareness without making people feel guilty. Employees emerge motivated and equipped to create solutions in the company.
